POS billing
POS billing is the first screen after you sign in. It lists past invoices and is where you start a new sale.
Make a sale
Section titled “Make a sale”- Click New sale or press F8.
- Customer (optional). Leave it on Walk-in (paid in full by cash) for an ordinary counter sale, or choose a customer.
- If you chose a customer, you can also fill in:
- Paid now, ₹ — what the customer pays today. Leave it blank to put the whole bill on credit.
- Method — Cash, UPI or Card. Enabled once you enter an amount.
- Under Cart, pick each Item and type its quantity. Press F8 again to add another line quickly. A stock hint shows what is available.
- Click Checkout or press F9 (or Page Down).
BatchRx chooses the batches (earliest expiry first), splits a line across two batches if one alone cannot cover it, works out GST, and creates the invoice with its number. The invoice opens straight away.
Prescription medicines (Schedule H1 and X)
Section titled “Prescription medicines (Schedule H1 and X)”If a cart line is a Schedule H1 or X item, a Patient & prescriber details block appears. Every field is required:
- Patient name and age
- Prescriber name and registration number
These entries feed the H1/X register report. You cannot complete the sale without them.
Print the invoice
Section titled “Print the invoice”Open an invoice and click Print to print the A4 tax invoice. Only the invoice is printed, not the surrounding screen.
Find or reopen an invoice
Section titled “Find or reopen an invoice”Select a row with ↑/↓ and press F5, or click View. From an open invoice you can:
- Record payment (F11) — when a balance is still due. See Customers and credit.
- Return items — see Returns.
When a sale is refused
Section titled “When a sale is refused”An error appears in red above the buttons. The common ones:
- Not enough stock — the message shows available versus requested. Reduce the quantity, or check Stock.
- Expired stock — expired batches are never sold.
- Patient or prescriber details missing on an H1/X line.
- Read-only mode — the licence has expired, see Licence.
If the computer is offline and not registered as a terminal, you see a warning that you must register it from the Sync tab first. See Offline billing.
